While walking my pit bull a neighbor’s bit bull came flying out of the front door. Totally startled from the fast approaching growling dog I ended up tripping with two leashed pit bulls in my hand. Both of my dogs got away.

One of my pit bulls is a rescue by the name of radar, he’s a small and fear full dog. He was once used in dog fighting with scars all over his face. Radar took off after the other dog, I didn’t know what to do. Other than close my eyes. I didn’t want to watch what was about to happen. The neighbor dog, turned around and took off back into the house. Once inside, the two froze. My boyfriend got radar out of the living room.

After hearing all the noise, a woman can around from the side yard with a baby on her him. She was calm and apologized for her dog’s behavior as did I. We were both happy that no damage came to either pit bull. That’s when it hit me that I really needed to put proper care into my dog and place him in dog training of some sort. The crazy part of this is I had been thinking about it for months.

Anyone that loves their dogs need to do the right thing and give their dogs the proper training they need. We as pit bull parents have an even higher responsibility, we own a powerful breed that can do serious damage. We need to be the breeds ambassador and make sure these dogs are trained and well behaved at all times. Pit bulls already have such a bad rap when they are not bad dogs at all.

Pit Bull have a long dark and colorful history, they are very intelligent, Funny, Smart and Energetic. Many Myths surround the pit bull such as the lock jaw which is totally fake. No matter how well behaved you pit bull is there will always be someone that frowns down on it. This is mainly due to the misrepresented facts that the media provides every chance they get. You can help change the public minds about pit bulls by educating them and representing them in public settings.

Know Your Dogs likes and Dislikes

It’s only natural for every dog to have a certain dislike and likes. Just like humans some get along with others some do not, its simple in their nature. A prime example would be some pit bulls love other dogs, and some do not. Some might tolerate them but steers clear of interact, some might not tolerate other dogs at all.
